We have an exciting opportunity to join the Estate Services Department as a Head of Energy and Carbon working hybrid.


Estates Services is responsible for the management of Oxford's 450 buildings, University Parks and Gardens, Wytham Woods and commercial, agriculture and residential land.

About the Role


As the Head of Energy and Carbon, you will be responsible for driving forward the University's net zero carbon programme to reach our strategic objectives of net zero carbon and net gain in biodiversity by 2035.

This includes the management of our utility procurement and data, the team that work on our building controls, carbon reduction projects across the entire estate and decarbonisation of heat.

It is a high profile role with a regular requirement to report to University committees on data, risks and horizon scanning.


About You


To be successful in this role, you will need a good understanding of the approach needed to achieve net zero in large organisations.

You will need to be someone who strives for excellence and enjoys providing high quality analysis and data which meets stakeholder needs.

You will have great management and communication skills with the ability to summarise technical detail to an engaged audience.

You will also have a positive attitude with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work, and be comfortable when priorities suddenly need to change.
