My client is an Established Care group who is looking for caring individuals to join their team of support workers at a children's home in Waltham Abbey.

There is great opportunity for progression and extra training for those wanting to add value to the lives of young people aged 10-18, at the same time as progressing their career.

My client recruits for most of their more senior positions internally, showing they really do value staff that stay with them and add value to their homes and the lives of their service users.

Duties for the Children's Support Worker Role:

To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centered approach.
To observe and promote the Service Users' choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfillment and other rights.
To create and maintain good professional relationships with Service Users, their Family and Friends.
To actively support other Care Assistants.
To adhere to all regulatory/statutory obligations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Takes time to listen to the person to whom they provide care.
Must be able to understand, remember and follow tasks, even whilst working under pressure.
Have a kind and patient demeanor.
Treats Service Users with dignity and respect that results in trust and cooperation.
Sustain a nurturing environment.
Understands and adheres to policies/regulations.
Has the emotional strength to care for those who may be terminally ill, or suffering from posttraumatic experiences.
Good observation skills to watch for and identify signs of change in a person's wellbeing.
Uses a diplomatic tone of voice and effective body language to engage in difficult and challenging situations with the service user.
