We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Team Leader to join the Support to Older People Service.


This is a great opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team who are committed to delivering high quality services to older residents in our supported housing, which provides homes specially designed for older people who want to live independently.

Do you have experience of delivering a high-quality service which exceeds customers and stakeholder's expectations?

Have you experience of providing confident, empowering and decisive leadership and direction to colleagues, ensuring high quality services are consistently delivered?


You will need strong, visible leadership skills, be able to lead by example and clearly communicate our objectives to help move the service forward and deliver service improvements for residents.

**What we do
The team delivers our service to residents in their homes.

meeting with residents regularly to identify and agree together any support needed to help residents maintain their independence in their homes.

This could include support with health and mobility, financial wellbeing, linking to care and support, making safeguarding referrals.


Residents receive regular well-being checks each week, resulting in follow ups and referrals where needed and close working with Housing Officers on tenancy management including supporting lettings and highlighting any site issues to help deliver residents priorities.


We provide a 24-hour alarm response service, including a lifting service for residents who have fallen using a lifting cushion.


What will you do?


You will be leading a team of front line, site based, Sheltered Housing Officers delivering our service to approximately 1100 residents aged over 60 who have homes in our sheltered housing across the city.


You will:

  • Provide effective leadership to motivate and develop your team, coaching and supporting colleagues to achieve targets and reach their full potential.
  • Deliver day to day operational management of the service through supervision, development, support and motivation of your dispersed frontline team
  • Coordinate and monitor workloads and performance.
  • Look for new ways to develop and improve service provision to residents, working with residents, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Develop and support advocacy for residents through collaborative partnership working.
  • Have an understanding of the challenges that can face residents.
  • Be ICT literate and be confident working with data to drive performance and embody the values and behaviours of the organisation


Your role will include being available (on a rota basis) to provide advice and support to colleagues responding to resident's alarm calls out of hours.

You must have transport and a current driving licence to allow travel across the city.


We are part of the Housing Management and Estates Service, and you will be working collaboratively with the wider management team and colleagues in Tenancy Management, Lettings, Income and Caretaking Teams as well as Repairs and Maintenance with residents at the centre of what we do.
