Description
In England, a young person must be in part-time education or training until they're 18.

As this is a full time Non-apprenticeship position, applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply.


An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time Band 2 Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and caring team on the short stay unit of Blackpool Victoria Hospital.


Specific duties will include, following appropriate training:

  • Taking and recording observations such as temperature, peak flow, BMI (If trained and competent)
  • Blood glucose monitoring (If trained and competent)
  • Urinalysis
  • Venepuncture (If trained and competent)
  • Ensuring specimens are delivered to Pathology
  • ECG recording (If trained and competent)
  • Stocking up the treatment and consultation rooms
  • Chaperoning patients to scans/appointments
  • Case note delivery
  • Daily maintaining clean and safe treatment rooms and general ward areas.
  • Ensuring patient identity, and next of kin details are correct on all documentation.
  • Specific patient paperwork documentation


To undertake such duties as maybe required from time to time and which are consistent with the responsibilities of the band and individual's level of competency.
