Our client is looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Accountancy team in Guildford for an initial period of 6 months

Our client, a well known & growing business based in Guildford is looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Accountancy team

Description

Junior Accounts Payable Clerk - Guildford

Analyse and process invoices
Determine appropriate VAT treatment of invoices
Preparing payments and ensure creditors' payment terms are met
Perform monthly creditor reconciliations
Followup with creditors on invoice and/or balance queries
Raise accruals to ensure that expenses are recorded in the appropriate financial periods
Prepare documents used for financial reporting purposes
Any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business
Must have strong administration and organisational skills (Excel, Work, Outlook included)
Able to work autonomously and handle confidential information appropriately
Accuracy is essential, together with the ability to plan and manage tasks in order to meet reporting deadlines
Must have uptodate knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC tax requirements
Comfortable with IT systems used for financial reporting purposes
