This is an exciting opportunity for a paid or volunteer Gateway Assessors to be fast tracked through the adviser training programme and gain paid advice work experience whilst achieving competency as a Generalist Advice Caseworker.

Once having completed an initial four weeks training you will be allocated to work on one of a range of different projects and services providing direct advice to the public and undertaking casework on social welfare law issues.


  • You must be a competent trained Gateway Assessor and have achieved the Gateway Certificate.
  • An understanding of the advice needs and issues of the local community in a diverse innercity area
  • To understand, empathise with and be committed to the Service's aims, principles and equal opportunities policies
