37 hours per week
Here at Welwyn Hatfield, we are looking to make a genuine difference to people's lives. To achieve this ambition, we need the right people to help shape and deliver our services.

Following a restructure and a newly appointed repairs contractor, we are looking to appoint several Building Surveyors to support our ongoing programme of work.

Leading on one of the following core functions, you will provide surveying services for the Councils c9.500 housing stock and commercial portfolio.


  • Housing Repairs and Voids
  • Planned and Cyclical Maintenance
  • Stock Condition


You will have excellent technical skills together with a real passion for providing excellent customer service together with developing and maintaining a strong partnering relationship whilst supporting and driving organisational and cultural change to deliver the Council's mission and values.

We are a customer focused organisation, and you must also maintain a commitment to their needs at all times.

Combining all of this, you will have excellent budget and contractor management skills and be passionate about improving homes and making a real difference.

You will have a good level of experience in building surveying, home safety and be to communicate technical issues in a clear and understandable way.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals with the skills to introduce new ideas and working practices.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
