Are you passionate about ensuring the well-being and rights of children in the care system? We are seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) for Children's Social Care who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the care plans of children and advocating for their best interests.


Key Responsibilities:
As an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), your role will encompass a range of essential responsibilities, including:

  • Acting as an impartial and independent chairperson in Looked After Reviews, Child Protection Conferences, and other relevant meetings.
  • Ensuring that each child's care plan is comprehensive, wellinformed, and tailored to their specific needs.
  • Advocating for the child's wishes and feelings to be given due consideration in all decisionmaking processes.
  • Collaborating with social workers, families, and professionals to facilitate effective communication and the development of highquality care plans.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children in care.

Qualifications and Experience:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A background in social work, child protection, or a related field.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in child welfare or similar disciplines.
  • Previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer or in a similar child welfare role.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with children, families, and professionals.
  • A strong commitment to child welfare and advocating for the rights of children.

£196.09 per day
