About Our Client:


Page Personnel has partnered with a large Public Sector business based in Hull to assist in the recruitment of a Communications Officer to join them on a permanent basis.

Your main responsibility is to support the Media Manager and the Internal Communications Manager in providing proactive and reactive internal and external communications utilising traditional, digital and social media channels.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Sources and produces proactive written and visual material demonstrating the achievements in accordance with the organisation's strategic claims and objectives.
Responds to media enquiries and drafts legally sound, appropriate responses.

  • Production of high quality videos through filming and editing to promote the organisation internally and externally.
  • Uses social media as an effective communications channel and understands how messages differ for individual channels.
  • Builds positive working relationships with members of the press, local news website owners and influential local bloggers.
  • Uploads written and visual material to the force website and to the Intranet.
  • Arranges press conferences, interviews and photo opportunities for news and features and internal purposes.

The Successful Applicant:


  • Has experience of working in a media environment.
  • Experience of writing articles/press releases.
  • Proven experience of planning and implementing media and social media campaigns.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks undertaken and displays a creative and innovative approach to fact finding and problem solving.
