Customs Business Development Manager - Belfast/ Hybrid - £40,000 plus commission


Clemence Rogers are currently recruiting for a Customs BDM to be responsible for achieving annual Gross Profit target as set out in the business plan.

Acquiring new EU and UK customs clearance and Bureau business from prospects and securing current work


Key Responsibilities of a Customs BDM:

  • Use existing database to source opportunities to develop EU and UK clearance and Bureau prospects
  • Identify other means of further developing the prospect database
  • Issue quotations to prospects and existing clients and conduct prospect / client visits or telephone and video calls as required
  • Handle and resolve queries from existing clients
  • Work with colleagues to support new business development opportunities
  • Obtain referrals from existing clients
  • Maintain up to date information on prospects in the sales and marketing database and ensure all activity and pipeline information is logged
  • Ensure sales pipeline remains sufficient to enable targets to be achieved
  • Flexible approach to work, where necessary transfer, or undertake other duties within competence and within reason, in order to meet fluctuations or priorities in work demands. Which could require you to be contactable out of hours
  • Be willing and be prepared to react to last minute tasks and react accordingly working with a cando attitude encourage those you oversee daily to work to their full potential, whist maintaining a high personal standard
  • Competitor and sales analysis
  • Nurture relationships with current clients, ensuring satisfaction while increasing the value without increasing the spending
  • Selling the Business and not just the Product
  • Client Onboarding
  • In depth knowledge of import and export HMRC and Irish Revenue regulations for frontier clearance, bonded goods, Excise, Simplified declarations for imports, Customs Warehousing and VAT / Duty.
  • Proven experience developing new business in the customs sector
  • Ability to contribute ideas to enhance the 'Customs Bureau' product.
  • Proven ability to attract and secure new clients.
  • Digital approach and ability to drive and embrace all IT solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to convert prospects to secured business.
  • Ability to communicate with and present to prospects, clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Clear and accurate reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and be well networked.

Hours:


  • 08:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday
