Job summary:
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has an exciting opportunity right at the heart of their Enforcement Directorate.
We are looking for an organised, flexible and detail-orientated Executive Assistant who can provide effective high-level support to the Executive Director (ED) of Enforcement.
About the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)
We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.
Our work requires us to harness, process and analyse ever growing and more complex data sets to support our most critical cases and studies.
The CMA is now embarking on a major programme of digital transformation that includes the adoption of new technologies such as generative AI to meet the demands of our new work.
To meet these challenges, we have built data science and engineering teams with specialist skills across natural language processing, network analysis, machine learning and cloud engineering.
What you will do
You will act as a key link between the ED of Enforcement and the rest of the organisation, providing fast-paced diary support, whilst helping the ED to set and deliver their priorities.
You will identify upcoming risks and challenges, providing sound advice to the ED based off on your own astute judgement to provide effective solutions.
This will involve researching issues, reviewing documents and liaising closely with colleagues from across the CMA, to successfully ensure the continued operation of the Directorate.
In order to maintain high-level operational support, you will need to work closely with other Executive Assistants from across the wider CMA, providing the skills and flexibility needed to deal with a range of duties within a fast-paced environment.
What you will need
You will provide evidence of strong administrative skills, including proficiency in document production and management.
You will exhibit previous experience of successfully prioritising multiple work tasks to meet strict deadlines, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
You will demonstrate an excellent ICT capability, particularly with Microsoft Office programmes and will also possess astute research and analysis skills, with experience of gathering, summarising and presenting information for varying audiences, with the ability to tailor communications according to the needs of different people.
What we can offer you
We recognise the value of work-life balance, offering hybrid working arrangements and flexible working options including part-time, compressed hours, and job share arrangements.
Furthermore, we proactively promote mental and physical well-being through a diverse range of well-being initiatives, including an employee assistance programme and a supportive network of mental health first aiders.
The CMA is a hugely rewarding, diverse and stimulating place to work - an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so.
All CMA staff enjoy generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision.
You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans and a cycle to work scheme. To find out more about this opportunity and about working for the CMA, please click on the APPLY button.
