Senior Finance Business Partner


We are recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team at Nectar Imports on a 12 month - FTC.


The
Senior Finance Business Partner - Wholesale role is a pivotal role in the Nectar subsidiary of Asahi to support the business through a period of change.

The role will take day to day ownership of the Commercial Finance agenda within the Wholesale channel to produce robust plans, partner with the business to ensure they are delivered and effectively report on progress.


Responsible for volume, revenue and margin within the P&L with a focus on providing a forward-looking outlook and identifying margin and profit enhancing opportunities from customer to supplier.

You will be an effective partner and able to constructively challenge your stakeholders to ensure that we're making informed decisions aligned to our strategy and that help us deliver our targets.


The role will work with the Commercial Finance Business Partner and Commercial Finance Analyst to drive improvements to processes and reporting and to deliver a high level of business partnering support to the Sales team.

Due to the complex nature of the channel and how it is structured the role needs to be able and willing to be in the detail on a daily basis, but able to step back to identify short and long term opportunities to improve performance.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Woking Head Office. There is an expectation to travel to the Nectar site in Hindon (Wiltshire) at least once per week.


Key Accountabilities


The role requires the aptitude to support planning, budgeting and forecasting as well as the ability to work in the detail of financial reporting, whilst influencing, supporting and constructively challenging the Sales function.

The key accountabilities of the role can be summarised as:

  • Support negotiations with the strategic customers, making recommendations in line with pricing policy and guardrails.
  • Identify and drive revenue and margin enhancing opportunities.
  • Drive improvements in reporting enabling deeper understanding of customer and category performance.
  • Drive the planning, budget and forecasting process to deliver business goals.
  • Drive deeper understanding of the business to support key decision making through insightful financial analysis.

The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for the following key outputs and accountabilities:
Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead IFT input into wider AUK monthly Latest Estimate (LE) process.
  • Support & influence Head of Sales and KAMs in producing robust customer tenders, covering volume, price, investment & margins, ensuring that any decisions taken are not detrimental to the wider "Enterprise" strategy.
  • Work with Sales, Finance and Purchasing to prepare budgets and forecasts, providing strong financial support throughout.
  • Actively attend Sales meetings, making relevant challenges where appropriate and leading the financial aspects of the review.
  • Evaluate investment choices from a financial perspective to provide a longterm perspective of the impact on portfolio profitability.
  • Challenge and support the development of the financial assumptions that underpin the sales plans.
  • Ensure the budget owners understand and adopt the right methodology, tools and templates (includes training), developing specific planning, budgeting & forecasting tools and templates if required. (Listing Fee/Retro etc Budgets)
Business Performance Management & Decision Support

  • Prepare monthly volume, NPR, Product GM and P+L analysis as well as customer & category profitability analysis, providing deep insightful commentary on key variances for the business that are reviewed and used to influence forward planning to ensure full year budgets and forecasts are delivered.
  • Produce accurate and insightful reporting and commentary on month end Product GM/NPR volume/price/mix analysis.
