Join our retail assistant team:
We're currently looking FTC retail assistant to join our team and work behind our SOJO concierge at a Central London Department Store.
It is a fast growing and exciting time at the company and we are looking for a charismatic individual to be the public facing representation of our brand.
Our retail assistant will be required to consult our in-person customers on their tailoring and repair needs, pin our customers for their perfect fit, book in all the alteration/repair requests and will also be required to complete basic hand sewing on simple repair & alterations when not serving customers.
Key Competencies & Requirements:
- A charismatic and people orientated person with a strong aptness for customer service and peoplefacing roles
- An approachable and friendly personality combined with excellent personal presentation and a professional attitude
- Basic knowledge of fitting garments for alterations
- Experience in hand sewing and finishing for simple tailoring and repair services on a variety of garments and materials [eg. hand stitching a hem, repairing a seam, replacing a button etc]
- Excellent attention to detail and efficient working patterns and you strive to work with a level of excellence at all times no matter what challenges arise
- Excellent written and spoken English skills and clear communication skills
- Basic knowledge of clothing construction, various fabrics and material properties
- Basic knowledge of quality control
- An ability to stay calm during busy periods or when under time pressure and an ability to resolve conflicts and deal with difficult customers in a calm and professional manner
- Elementary mental maths
- A strong ability to work alone and resolve issues indepedently
- Preferred: 12 years retail experience with a demonstrable ability to work well on a shop floor
- Preferred: Indepth knowledge of fitting garments for alteration
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Booking all in-store SOJO orders at our concierge stand on a wide variety of garments and for a wide selection of service types
- Consulting with customers on their tailoring and repair needs ensuring there is clear understanding of all our services and how tailoring / repair works
- Facilitating 121 inperson pinning and fitting sessions with customers ensuring their items are pinned correctly for alteration and their perfect fit
- Completing simple hand sewing alterations and repairs on items booked in (hemming, seam rips, hole darning, button replacement etc)
- Managing the customer service of our inperson shop and navigating any negative customer experiences
- Ensuring the organisation of the SOJO orders booked in, that they are labelled, categorised, packaged and stored correctly
- Ensuring the safe delivery and collected of the booked and completed orders to our rider at the delivery bay on a daily basis
- Ensuring that the SOJO concierge desk is kept clean, tidy and presentable
- Supporting SOJO's broader customer service by answering DM queries or replying to social media comments

- London, W1A 1AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Retail sales & customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Sewing: 1 year (preferred)
