We are seeking to recruit a Facilities Assistant (cleaner) to join our team at Amberstone Hospital, Carters Corner, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 4HY.

Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to undertake varied manual tasks, and have experience of working within the Cleaning Industry or the Catering Industry and with the general public.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team, to deliver and achieve high standards of
environmental cleaning and prepare meals for service.

We need people who recognise the importance of a clean environment and food safety requirements as well as the important of adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times.

The hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings between 06:30 and 14:00, a total of 22.5 hours per week.


Deliver a full cleaning service at the prescribed times, in line with policies and procedures and as detailed in the cleaning work schedules.

Willingness and ability to support all service activity, including meal service for patients in our care, when required.


Duties include but are not limited to: - vacuum cleaning, damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal glass, sanitary ware, e.g. baths, showers, sinks, toilets, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings, floor maintenance etc.

Some specialist cleaning equipment is used, for which full training will be provided.
