ASD Teaching Assistants

ASAP Start
A small Special Needs School in Bromley is recruiting several ASD teaching assistants to start ASAP. The role is full time for the remainder of the academic year.

The school caters for 90 pupils aged 5-19 years old, with EHCPs for ASD and Aspergers Syndrome. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The school offers a wealth of resources toboth students and pupils.

There are opportunities throughout the school, however you must be prepared to work across the key stages.

The shortlisted teaching assistants will have previous experience supporting children and young adults with SEN, ideally ASD and associated needs.

Each class will have a maximum of 8 students, and you will work under the direction of the class teacher, while also using your own initiative.

It is imperative you can use PECs and Makaton.

Depending on the class you are allocated to, you may be requiredto complete personal care, although training will be provided.


The school are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, who are consistent and dedicated to the students and school.


Key Skills:


  • Previous support work within a SEN school or other child related experience
  • Degree from a leading university
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • One to one and small group work
  • Professional manor
  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach
