About our client

Planet First Partners (PFP) is a long-term growth equity investment platform with a mission to invest in, and partner with, purpose-led businesses which will deliver market leading financial returns alongside meaningful environmental and societal impact.

It is among one of the first ' ̃Article 9' or ' ̃Dark Green' growth funds, meaning 100% of investments are/will be aligned with the EU Sustainable Investment Taxonomy.

As a result, the diligence process involves a sustainability management plan as an integralpart of the value creation plan proposed by PFP.

This will ensure all management teams and KPIs measure, report and verify contributions to sustainability alongside commercial success.

PFP has already raised over â,¬400M, and deploys â,¬10-50M in each investment for minority equity positions in European headquartered businesses.

Furthermore, PFP is an evergreen structure which allows for agility in hold period to help better facilitate long-termchange.

Having already invested in two companies, PFP is continuing to deploy capital within a 4-year investment period but with this flexible hold period.

PFP was founded by Frédéric de Mévius and Alexander de Wit, respectively former Chairman/CEO and Managing Director at Verlinvest, where they invested in and supported successful consumer brands such as Oatly and Vita Coco.

The founders are currently supportedby a high-calibre, entrepreneurial and mission-driven investment team in London.

They are now looking to scale the team through key hires at all levels who are passionate about investing with purpose.

What the job involves

The Principal will be responsible for the development and management of a number of verticals within Planet First's investment focus.

This person will play a crucial role in the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities as well as on portfolio management.

They will also play an essential role in the development of PFP and will work with the founding Partners on building a successful investment team and respected brand.

Working closely with the Founding Partners, the Principal will have the following core responsibilities:

Develop the team's thought leadership & network and source relevant investment opportunities;
Play a leading role in negotiations and in the execution of transactions by effectively steering internal and external parties;
Develop a firstclass investment team and mentor team members to help them reach their full potential;
Represent the interests of Planet First Partners on the boards of invested companies, and work hand in hand with the executive teams in defining and reaching objectives.

Who we are looking for

Having a passion for purposeled investing in the sustainability space and with expertise in the underlying technologies that enable disruption in the sector;
Proven track record in managing endtoend transactions;
Having international experience at both the personal and business level is deemed important.
Experience in DACH, Southern and/or Northern Europe will be considered a strong advantage.
