The Opportunity


At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.


We are looking for a Quality Assurance, to plan and facilitate external certification audits performed by HPC's appointed 3rd Party Certification Body.

In your role, you will be the primary contact for the certification body for the HPC certification programme.


As a Quality Assurance, you will support the IMS & Audit Manager in maintaining the HPC integrated management system (IMS), The role involves liaising with different stakeholders to ensure NNB requirements are understood and implemented.

You will support the HPC screening processes for lessons learned and undertakes assigned internal management system audits.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join an exciting and complex infrastructure project.

What you'll be doing
You will report to the IMS & Audit Manager and will not have any direct nuclear safety responsibilities.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the endtoend process for the 3rd party audits:
  • Liaising with the appointed 3rd party certification body and be the primary contact for HPC.
  • Managing the financial arrangements between the finance department and appointed 3rd party certification body.
  • Developing the certification audit plans through consultation with internal stakeholders.
  • Liaising with relevant heads of function to ensure certification requirements are addressed and implemented. Facilitating and expediting the closure of certification audit findings.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress on findings from EDF Energy audits and EDF SA audits.
  • Managing the Process Nonconformance process and participating in HPC screening processes for lessons learned.
  • Supporting the review/ writing process for the Supplier Quality Management Plans.
  • Providing guidance and support in use of IMS tools across the HPC organisation.
  • Conducting internal management systems audits as required.
  • Supporting ONR regulatory interventions.
  • Liaising with Quality Leads and Contract Partner Quality Representatives to share Quality learning.

Who you are

Your background may include some of the following:

  • Possess a recognised Quality qualification.
  • Qualified Auditor with auditing experience.
  • Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations.
  • Proactive and flexible, being prepared to plan and work on own initiative.
  • Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience of working as a Quality Professional in large projects.
  • Ability to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
