Public Research - Credit Strategist
London
This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
As Barclays Public Research - Credit Strategist, you will be a part of European Credit Strategy Research team that is responsible for the house view of European credit markets from a macro perspective, focusing on assisting senior European Investment Grade Strategist analysts in the team.
You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in Credit Strategy Research and chance to contribute to writing analysis and directly supporting the desk yourself.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in.
What will you be doing?:
- Assisting in setting the firms view on the European IG credit markets
- Helping establish forecasts for returns, supply, demand, quality preference, curve shape, etc
- Developing and relaying sector views with the fundamental analyst team
- Being responsible for data requests from credit trading, sales and clients, and interactions around this
- Contributing to the logistics of the weekly publications and ongoing tasks of the wider team
- Interacting with fundamental credit research analysts to help generate trade ideas
- Assisting with creating and maintaining screens that produce trade ideas based on broader market themes
- Working with credit derivative, high yield, and hybrid capital strategists to make comparisons across those markets
- Working with the US IG (Investment Grade) credit strategists on joint projects
What we're looking for:
- Financial analysis experience and at least basic coding experience in SQL, VBA or Excel
- Excellent analytical problemsolving ability and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Works well with and is comfortable communicating directly with all levels of the organisation
