The OU Administrator will support the leadership team across a breadth of activity in order to support effective people management, service delivery and reporting.


Prospective applicants should be experienced administrators who is IT literate with experience across a range of administrative activities such as preparing papers, writing letters, taking minutes, diary management, maintaining records.

Applicants should be strong communicators, with excellent organisational skills. Applicants should have a positive work ethic and a flexible approach.


The role will predominately be based at Gatwick MRC, however there may also be the occasional requirement to travel to other Trust sites to support the team.

Provides general clerical, word processing and data input support for the relevant teams as required.

To support the OU Leadership Team.

To collate data for reporting to support compliance.

Organise meetings for the Team, handle messages and respond to enquiries.

To operate and maintain staff records systems.

Support processing of monthly pay and expenses.

Filing, photocopying, record keeping, postal duties, taking/making routine telephone calls, distributing and circulating documents and other routine clerical work.

Attend meetings and minute take.

To act as a central point of communication for all staff within the Operating Unit.

Coordination of meetings which including sickness and grievance hearings liaising with colleagues within other departments.

Use of appropriate resources including telephone and IT equipment.

Undertake any other work commensurate with the grade of the post.

Handle personal and Trust matters with discretion and complete confidentiality


The job consists of varied tasks requiring some flexibility of mind and personal organisation to determine priorities and handle more than one issue at a time.

The post holder will liaise with all levels of internal and external stakeholders via written, verbal and face-to-face communications.
Flexible approach to helping other members of the Trust.

Undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, commensurate with the title of the post.

Taking formal minutes for the operating unit as well on occasion taking minutes for other Directorate meetings.
