Senior Technical Consultant - Backup & Recovery

United Kingdom - London [ HYBRID WORKING 2/3 DAYS]

Salary - Up to £83,000 + Package - Bonus ETC.

My client is a longstanding, prestigious asset management company, who are currently looking for a senior technical consultant to join a new and exciting team being built within.


The Role and Purpose

The role is part of the team which will design and deliver the capability to recover from catastrophic events which do not allow restoration of services in tolerable timeframes.

The team will

  • Review the current state of backup & strategy for onpremises and Cloud solutions.
  • Design solutions and practices with respective product teams to implement a vault solution.
  • Assists to develop scenarios and recovery plans with product teams.
  • Assists evolve the strategic roadmap and direction
  • Provide inputs in the definition of the aligned global operating model
  • Ensure that we design with the overall tech direction of the firm including our 80% cloud by 2025 & data aspirations
  • Ensure that are developed, deployed and maintained in an automated manner using code.

Your skills and experience

  • Experience to design, plan, engineer and operate strategies aligning data protection and recovery vault in a large enterprise with petabytes of data across infrastructure landscape involving multiple technology products in multiple data centres and AWS,Azure Cloud Services.
  • Experience in development and infrastructure engineering with handson experience coding for cloudbased technologies (ideally Python, terraform, UNIX)
  • Experience in backup and recovery of virtualised workloads, multiple clients, and database agents with demonstrable experience and solution approaches
  • Experience with NetBackup domain with GUI and command line utilities for administration, operation, and reporting.
  • Experience with the design and administration of EMC Data Domain solutions using GUI and CLI
  • Experience with Storage Lifecycle Policies, AIR, OST, Cloud, Tape/VTL, Certificates, and OpsCenter.
  • Experience and knowledge of SAN, NAS, and Object store platforms (VMAX, XIO, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions.
