This role is fantastic opportunity to join Mechanical assembly Department (Renewable Energy)as part of the HVDC manufacturing team


UK Grid Solutions Limited, Stafford is an international leader in high power electronics and control technology, specialising in the engineering of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission Systems using both Line-Commutated (thyristor-based) and Voltage-Sourced (IGBT-based) converter technologies.

This role will require flexibility to meet production demands. During busy periods there will be a requirement to work across early and late shifts (between 6am pm).

Shift working will attract a premium allowance in addition to base salary.

Future Shifts: 6am -2pm and 2pm - 10pm (Monday - Thursday) and shorter shifts on Fridays.

As production ramps up and we stabilise with two lines and 2 shifts this may change very slightly.

The Role - Manufacturing Operator**To work as part of the manufacturing team to ensure the assembly of products to meet daily targets whilst maintaining the required quality standards, ensuring assembly and inspection is carried out using the correct tools, current build, and correct process documentation.


Responsibilities:


  • Manufacturing Operator:
  • Ensure Production Target achieved, this may require shift requirements.
  • Responsible for the build quality of the product, inline with the standard operating instructions.
  • Responsible for the routine maintenance / cleaning of the workstation
  • Check to ensure all equipment is compliant
  • BV Inspections, Calibration, PAT
  • As & when required support any other duties that may be required to support the manufacturing facility
  • Carry out 5S inspections
  • Ensure EHS best practice and fully align to GE EHS

The Person

  • Good general standard of education.

Demonstrated experience in the light mechanical assembly environment or similar
:


  • Prepared to be flexible and work shift patterns when required, to meet production demands

Skills and Experience:


  • The ability to work and communicate as part of a team.
  • Understanding of 'Lean manufacturing' techniques would be advantageous
  • Understanding of Kanban & Flow / Pull Techniques would be advantageous
  • Mechanical/Electrical aptitude would be advantageous
  • Requires manual handling and ergonomics knowledge.
  • Able to work to standard written operative procedures in an autonomous manner
  • Knowledge of VAV and LOTO

  • Selfmotivating, proactive and results driven approach
  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality
  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are bonus
  • Open to working shifts patterns to keep up with production demands
