Overview of project/role


As a Project Co-ordinator at TfL in the London Trams Project delivery team, you will be supporting the Programme Managers and the wider projects team to ensure governance and control processes are being followed and to assist with project reporting for a range of renewal and enhancement projects.


This is an excellent opportunity for those with general administration skills, fantastic co-ordination/organisation skills, and ideally some exposure to or interest in project management.

You will be joining a well versed and supportive team, who will mentor and nurture your professional development, with the aim that you will progress to an Assistant Project Manager role in the future.


Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the preparation of construction/project documentation to enable robust project governance processes in line with the TfL project delivery methodology
  • Responsible for supporting simple analysis of project finances and budgeting.
  • Responsible for supporting planning and scheduling activities, tracking milestones and identifying variances. Physically monitoring works activities on site as required.
  • Analysis of data and making decisions where appropriate or providing recommendations
  • Assist with the risk management process, documenting risks and mitigating actions
  • Assist with the contract procurement process in collaboration with the procurement team if applicable
  • Liaise with interfacing projects and coordinate associated works construction activities. Managing logistics on small sites if required.
  • Assist with construction planning and monitoring as required
  • Assist with ensuring that works construction activities comply with relevant safety legislation and TfL safety requirements, collaborating with the HSE team as required. Ensure safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.
  • Responsible for planning and prioritising work activities as directed by the Project Manager/Construction Manager.
  • Accountable for ensuring all tasks are delivered on time and to high quality standard

  • Understanding of TfL project and programme management methodologies and processes such as TfL Pathway.
  • Understanding of risk management processes
  • Awareness of contractual issues in a project environment.
  • Awareness of financial control and procurement processes and techniques.

  • Experience of working in project management in a large, complex, organisation where there are multiple complex interfaces.

  • Experience of delivering small packages of work within projects
