LEGAL CASHIER

SALARY £22,000 - £28,000
Browns Recruitment are pleased to announce that one of our well-established clients are currently looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to work in their Southampton Office.
Job specification:
- To undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations.
- The paying in and preparation of cheques on a daily basis.
- The administration and reconciliation of petty cash and nominal accounts.
- Preparation of Month end reports and distribution to Partners and feeearners.
- The processing of bank telegraphic transfers (TT's).
- Full Management of the firm's Payroll system and returns to HMRC.
- The preparatory work for the annual accounts.
- Ordering stationery for the firm on a regular basis.
- VAT administration and returns.
- Administration of the office insurance, practising certificates, professional indemnity insurance, and file reviews etc.
- Provide cover for the reception team if requested to do so by the practice manager and partners.
- An accountancy qualification or relevant knowledge and experience.
- SRA (Solicitor Rules Accounts) experience would be preferred but is not essential.
- Strong IT skills.
- Understanding of Microsoft packages and Legal Electronic Case Management Systems.
- Ability to and knowledge of how to handle sensitive and confidential information in a legal environment.
- Excellent communication skills including experience of writing concise and accurate reports and summaries.
- Ability and willingness to work with others as part of a team.
