An opportunity has arisen for the role of building Estimator within Morrison Construction, based in our regional office at Inverness.


What you will be doing:


  • Build relationships with our supply chain suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Be competent in the use of IT systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates from first principles.
  • Understand design issues sustainability and modern methods of construction.
  • Work in a processed manner in compliance with company Business Management Systems.
  • Work within a wider team.
  • Prepare & evaluate pricing documents/bill of quantities.
  • Identify project risks and manage accordingly.
  • Present pricing documentation for finalisation and handover to construction teams.
  • Work with one of the largest companies in the industry.


A full training programme will be established, which will include specific training in use of Conquest Estimating software and Viewpoint document management systems.


About You:


  • A good understanding of construction processes and design build ups
  • Educated to degree level in a construction discipline or have relevant experience.
  • Excellent time management, able to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of contract conditions and construction preliminaries.
  • Understanding of quantifying elements of construction and mathematical build ups.
  • Experience in using Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Experience of estimating would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Possess assured communication and organisational skills.
