Buyer - Chesterfield - £40,000 - £45,000


Chase and Holland are excited to be working with an established and growing manufacturing business based in Chesterfield who are recruiting a Buyer to join their team on a full time Permanent basis.


As a Buyer, you will be involved in the strategic procurement and management of raw materials in line with MRP demand, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery.

The role requires a strong and experienced individual accustomed to working in regulated environments with a wider supply chain knowledge.

The business offers fantastic development routes and you will receive lots of support from the established team.


Buyer Responsibilities:


  • Manage the Supply Chain, negotiating price and terms with suppliers
  • Placing orders or rescheduling materials in line with MRP requirements
  • Manage material shortages/constraints whilst working with Engineering/Customers to identify potential alternatives to minimise the impact on (OTD) On Time Delivery
  • Support the Quality Department in resolving quality issues in the supply chain ensuring replacement parts are delivered to meet customer demand
  • Develop relationships with various internal stakeholders to ensure that Customer requirements are met
  • Play an active role in the management and reduction of excess stock; currently held with a plan to minimise in the future
  • Ensure compliance to AS9100 personally and across the wider purchasing team

Hours:7:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am - 1.30pm Friday (30 minutes lunch)

(Additional flexibility can be offered to accommodate external commitments)


Required Skills & Experience:


  • 3+ years' procurement experience (sourcing internationally)
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • IT literate (ERP/MRP experience)
  • Be able to work in a highly dynamic environment
