~ Placement & Commissioning Officer ~

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with
West Sussex County Council who are looking for a
Placement & Commissioning Officer to join their
Children Commissioning Service.


They are looking for someone to Contribute to the management of a portfolio of contracts and placements you will initiate, establish, quality assure, monitor, and review contracts and placements with service providers.


You will also advise and support senior managers and contract & commissioning officers in the promotion of innovative contracting through the strategic review of contracts in line with national policy and to meet need.


Contract:

Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.

Pay Rate: £18+ per hour (negotiable depending on your experience).

Location: Slough.

Working Hours: 37 Hours per week.

Start date: ASAP.


Main Accountabilities;

  • Contribute to the analysis of statistical information and assist in the development of commissioning activities including the production of contract documents for low risk/low value contracts, including tenders, to ensure terms and conditions of contractscover all necessary aspects, and reflect the services required.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues, a range of other professionals and external partners/organisations (e.g., Independent Fostering and Residential Services), to seek the best outcomes for the children and youngpeople that we care for and care leavers.
  • Manage a complex referral caseload of children and young people aged 0 to 24 years of age under the supervision of team managers, gathering information from social work teams and current providers and other agencies to match and meet their accommodationand care/support needs.
  • Contribute to the management of a specified budget by ensuring that medium value contracted providers use relevant grants in line with grant conditions and ensure that any service development takes place within the limits of the budget set.
  • Carry out quality assurance visits in provider settings to monitor and review the effectiveness of their services to ensure contract compliance and to advise and assist providers to ensure they can meet the requirements of their contract.
