Our client is looking for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager, preferably with non-domicile and residency planning experience to join their team in advising their HNW and UHNW clients.
The firm represents a number of very wealthy families from around the world who have touch points in the UK, as well as representing a number of family offices who are based in the UK.
The role is a varied one but will suit someone who is sociable and with an interest to in residence and remittance planning, offshore restructuring for non-domiciliaries, and advising family businesses.
Other work will include the likes of making capitalallowance claims, R&D claims, advising on property business incorporations, and completing and filing ATED returns.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Working closely with and reporting directly to the Private Client Tax Director & Partners to deliver tax planning to UHNW and HNW individuals.
- Frequently attending webinars to keep up to date on often complex tax planning strategies for UK resident/ nondom and nonUK resident/nondom individuals.
- Researching and writing tax technical reports for the Tax Partner's review and communicating sometimes complex tax planning strategies to clients in a clear and concise manor.
- Calculating capital allowance claims, R&D claims, advising on property business incorporations, and completing and filing ATED returns.
- Working successfully with other Managers and Partners across the firm to ensure that strategies are implemented with regard to their overall affairs.
- Meeting and updating the relevant Manager and Partner on a regular basis highlighting areas of success or concern as appropriate.
- Overseeing the scheduling and workflows on each of the jobs ensuring all deadlines and targets are met.
- Providing technical tax support to other Partners and colleagues in the firm.
- Prepare fee proposals for work
- Liaising with, handling, and taking part in meetings with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties, such as solicitors, and barristers regarding a client's affairs.
Requirements:
- Desire and capability to progress to Senior Manager/Director level within a 23 year period.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in providing tax planning advice to a range of individuals. Experience of providing advice to HNW and UHNW a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Desire for continued learning and ability to demonstrate strong technical and commercial awareness.
- Excellent work ethic and desire to provide a superior client service.
- Confident, highly motivated, and sociable character with ability to build rapport with people at all levels.
- CTA qualified (any of ACCA/ACA/STEP a bonus but not essential)
