Red Sector Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our clients long-term Child Care Team for an initial period of 3-6 months initially.


As a member of the Child Care Team based in Llanelli Wales, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children from pre-birth to 18 years of age.

This position involves working on cases following the completion of the ACAS (Assessment and Children in Need) process, including CASP (Child and Adolescent Support and Protection), CP (Child Protection), LAC (Looked After Children), Care Proceedings, and Adoption.

Responsibilities:


  • Undertake thorough assessments and develop care plans that address the specific needs of children and their families.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 15 cases, ensuring that priority is given to meeting statutory and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate case records, following established procedures to facilitate monitoring, planning, and service development.
  • Collaborate and establish effective partnerships with various agencies from the statutory, private, voluntary, and independent sectors to ensure the provision of comprehensive services.

Team Structure:


  • The Child Care Team operates on a pod system, consisting of 3 Social Workers, a Senior Practitioner, and a Child and Family Practitioner.
  • Benefit from weekly group supervision sessions that include the expertise of a Psychologist, who provides valuable guidance on working with children and families.

Requirements:


  • A recognised qualification in Social Work and valid professional registration.
  • Proven experience in working with children and families in a child care setting.
  • Strong assessment and care planning skills to meet the diverse needs of children and families.
  • Excellent case management abilities, ensuring adherence to statutory and operational requirements.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate case records and following established procedures.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage with various agencies and stakeholders.
