The Role:

Aramex UK Ltd is actively seeking an experienced, driven and energetic IT Executive to support its UK operations.

The IT Executive will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading all IT and digital related activities across the organization.

They will help determine the IT needs of the business and are responsible for implementing IT systems and solutions to fulfill all information technology requirements.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage and maintain all IT systems across UK to support operational continuity.
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
  • Manage successfully all IT related budgets.
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
  • Developing network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease maintenance costs.
  • Creating rational strategies for upgrading the company's network software whenever a new update is available.
  • Constructing and implementing plans to ensure the company's network continues to operate smoothly in the event of a problem.
  • Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team each quarter.
  • Working closely with Managers and departments to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company's networks.

Specific Requirements:


  • Providing local IT Help Desk support and action
  • Maintaining local area network (LAN).
  • Maintaining wireless networks.
  • Maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environments for customers and suppliers.
  • Maintaining data backups.
  • Maintaining network and data security.
  • Users' accounts management.
  • Monitoring servers.
  • Handling all necessary workstation installations and all updates.
  • Maintaining local databases.
  • Maintaining local communication links.
  • Monitoring workstations antivirus in line with Corporate Governance
  • Improving daily work in operations department and developing needed systems and software.
  • Installing Security Devices and managing security issues.
  • Making sure employees are abiding by IT and security procedures.
  • Support local IT projects with suppliers.
  • Providing end user training.

Required Knowledge

  • TCP/IP, networking and IP routing to CCNA/CCNP standard (Certified).
  • SAN Equipment, Equalogic, Dell etc.
  • EDI concept and standards.
  • VMWare, VSAN, VSPHERE.
  • LINUX and ASTERISK, an advantage.

General Knowledge

  • Cisco/HP/Aruba routers and switches
  • VoIP and IP Telephony, Teams
  • Scripting languages such as Powershell and BASH
  • SQL Server

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in IT operations.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and decisionmaking skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operational best practices.
