We are seeking dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistants to work with primary-aged pupils in our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hackney.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis, providing support to pupils withAutism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties to help them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of pupils with Autism and SEMH difficulties.
Provide additional support and guidance to pupils, either on a onetoone basis or in small groups, to help them overcome any barriers to learning.
Help to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils, promoting positive behaviour and social interaction.
Assist with the personal care and hygiene of pupils with additional needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
Liaise with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Requirements:

A relevant qualification in Education or Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
Experience of working with primaryaged pupils with Autism and SEMH difficulties is essential.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.
The ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work well under pressure.
A commitment to continuing professional development.

Working Hours:
Full-time, 8:30am-4pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Salary:
Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications.
