Purpose of Role:

The Head of Buying will spearhead the strategic development and operational excellence of the LookFantastic APAC division within the broader umbrella of THG Beauty.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Development:

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive strategies to ensure sustainable growth and development of the brand and wholesale portfolios specifically targeting the Asian markets.

Brand & Operational Planning:

  • Collaborate synergistically with the Head of Buying for MENA & Asia to devise and implement strategies for the enhancement and expansion of the brand portfolio and broader category.
  • Accountable for the construction, management, and realization of category and brand budgets, aligning each with the agreedupon Joint Business Plans (JBP) and marketing initiatives.
  • Cooperate closely with the commercial marketing team to ensure the successful execution of all paid activations, ensuring alignment with the JBP.
  • Partner with the warehouse and operations team to secure the efficient management of inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Supervise the performance of brands continuously, reviewing for category performance to analyse sales trends, provide strategic advice to teams and ensure optimal inventory management

Brand Partnership Management:

  • Spearhead the recruitment of new beauty brands, fostering strong relationships and expanding Lookfantastic's portfolio.
  • Develop and nurture a robust supplier base across all Asian markets.
  • Manage communication efficiently with all potential and existing partners.
  • Oversee P&L responsibilities across all brands and Asia WH.
  • Negotiate and establish optimal trading terms with new suppliers, handling all contractual aspects of supplier onboarding.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure that our product ranges and prices remain competitive and in line with current market trends
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial marketing team to ensure the successful execution of all paid activations, aligning with the JBP.
  • Accountable for creating, managing, and delivering the category and brand budgets, aligning each with the JBP and marketing initiatives.

Merchandising Operations:

  • Oversee the product range, leveraging customer insights to maximize new product opportunities and enhance range visibility.
  • Manage and be accountable for the brand P&L, maintaining a clear understanding of stock in trade, opentobuy, aged and overstocks, territory participation, promotional funding, retro agreements, and trading margin.

Reporting:

  • Deliver comprehensive monthly reporting to all stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Team, providing updates on brand and territory development. This includes a detailed evaluation of financial performance, market trends, competitive landscape, and strategic insights to inform decisionmaking.

Team Development:

  • Cultivate the skills and competencies of the team by identifying individual training needs, setting clear goals, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Motivate the team through consistent recognition, praise, and the implementation of performancedriven incentives.
  • Ensure robust support for new team members, providing thorough induction and ongoing guidance throughout their learning journey.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Successful recruitment of new beauty brands to expand portfolio.
  • Ability to build and manage categories key to market
  • Achievement of sales growth targets.
  • Maintenance or improvement of gross margin targets.
  • Enhancement of commercial terms across margin, payment terms, marketing investment, and purchasing retros.
  • Ensuring availability & fulfilment from the Asia WH.
