Compliance Officer - Environmental Social and Governance
Location:
Head Office - Warrington
Salary:
£30,000 per annum
Hours: 40hrs per week, Mon-Fri, Hybrid working
We now have a new and exciting opportunity for an ESG Compliance Officer to work within our Health & Safety department, reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Compliance.
As the ESG & Compliance Officer you will be responsible for establishing, developing and managing the businesses strategic approach to the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), as well as supporting and maintaining the Quality, Health & Safety and Environment Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001) in line with the business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- To project lead, the development and maintenance of the Westgrove ESG strategies. This will include the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and action plans.
- Produce ESG reports, and set sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop and assist with commercial requirements in the production of Bids where information is required around ESG and ISO standards.
- To support the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager and to ensure Westgrove meets its regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of Internal and External audits across all ISO standards.
- Review and investigate accidents, incidents and near miss reporting, and undertake an annual review of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Devise communications (e.g., articles for newsletters, social media)
Experience/Skills required:
Essential
- Good understanding around environmental and sustainability policies and regulations, with experience in implementing strategic plans.
- Ability to quickly build relationships and work collaboratively both internally and with external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.
- Good project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, in particular experience of report writing and good attention to detail.
Desirable
- Health and Safety knowledge.
- Experience in carrying out compliance inspections and audits.
