Extrusion Operative

£24,733 - £32,046 per year

Our client, a family run business is a bespoke manufacturing company, are looking to recruit an Extrusion Operative to join their friendly, supportive team.

As a Extrusion Operative your main duties will be:

To produce quality extruded product
To assist with extrusion line setting and operation
Head, die and pin changing and setting
Monitor and maintain quality in accordance with specification
Use fork truck and manual means to move raw material and finished products
Assist with extrusion trials
Assist extrusion setters and other operatives
Trim, cut, wrap and pack extruded product
Bend, form and drill extruded product
Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and all personnel in the department
Make every effort to keep extruded product scrap to a minimum
Throughout each shift measure and record quality checks and monitor product quality
Follow and understand operating procedures and setting sheets for extruded products
Notify the Supervisor of any machine breakdowns or breaches of safety during the production process

Desired Skills/Experience:

Computor litrate.
NVQ in Manufacturing would be an
advantage

Fork truck experience.
Previous experience in a similar role
preferred

A clear understanding of extrusion equipment and methodology.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm. Monday to Thursday you will have 30 minute unpaid lunch break and 2x 10 minute tea breaks. Friday you will have 30 minute unpaid lunch break and 1x 15 min tea break.

Holiday entitlement is 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.

The normal working hours are 39 hours a week at basic rate and also 5 hours overtime pay at x hour each day) per week. The total hours worked will be 44 hours per week. There will also be additional overtime opportunities.

You will also be required to work on a night shift when needed to assist with additional workload which will be paid at an enhanced rate.
