Description

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, adaptable individuals who would enjoy working as part of our friendly team responsible for the collation of material for multidisciplinary meetings, which is a vital interface between the work of this department and its involvement in patient care.

For this varied and interesting post, you will need to be numerate and literate, be able to work as part of a team, be able to demonstrate adaptability and initiative and have good communication and organisational skills.

Applicants are required to have keyboard skills and, while knowledge of laboratory working or office experience would be an advantage, it is not essential as full training will be provided.

As part of the busy Cellular Pathology service you will be involved in a range of tasks in addition to the collation of meetings including data-entry, maintaining slide filing and general office duties.

The Histopathology department has a strong team working environment, always looking to improve to enhance not only the service we provide our users but also the experiences we offer our team.

Being a large department you will gain knowledge and experience across a wide range of activities.

This is a full time post (37.5hrs per week) working Monday to Friday.

Working in a small team, you will be providing support to the Consultant Histopathologists in the preparation of material required for presentation at MDT meetings in both physical and digital formats.

In addition you will be responsible for the tracking of blocks and slides into and out of the department when sent to external sites as well as maintaining the filing systems in place for slides.

For a full description of duties please see the attached job description.
