Location:

Children in Scotland is Edinburgh based but, until further notice, this role will be remote/home-based, with some travel to Edinburgh required for meetings and the option of use of office space in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow.

Arrangements will be reviewed, with staff involvement, throughout the year.


Hours:3 day (21 hours) or4 day (28 hours) options available


Salary:
Scale points 32-37, at the time of writing being £29,219 - £33,273 per annum pro rata. Subject to change following a salary review, due for completion early May 2023

About the role
Working in a busy, deadline-driven environment, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to work with Children in Scotland staff, our Members, key partners across the sector, the media and children and young people themselves to support our work and deliver our communications and marketing activity,

Our Strategic Plan and annual Delivery Plans provide the detail of how we go about achieving this.


As the
Senior Communications Officer - Membership lead you will be involved in the full breadth of Children in Scotland communication activity, working closely with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver to agreed plans.

You will also have a specific responsibility for our Membership engagement, communications and marketing, overseeing _Insight,_ our biannual Member publication.

You will deputise for the Manager in their absence and have line management responsibility within the team.


You will be ready to hit the ground running but we will offer you an excellent induction and support through the first few months, which will then turn into longer-term development opportunities.

You will join a brilliant group of supportive staff who are passionate about making a difference to children's lives and work hard to achieve this.
