The Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS) is a Core 24 liaison team that aspires to clinical, teaching and research excellence.

We are a dynamic, rapidly developing and evolving service covering all ages over 16 years in a 1254-bed busy general hospital dealing with over 500 referrals per month.


You will be part of an effective mutually supportive clinical team, undertaking high complexity assessments with patients in the NNUH.

You would work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, which includes, Mental Health nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Clinical Administrators.

You will have regular support and supervision from colleagues and will benefit from shadowing our other Assistant Practitioners during your induction.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to expand your skills further; be part of innovation, teaching and research; visit other Liaison services and conferences

You will need to be conscientious and do everything you can to provide patient centred care.

You will work within the NSFT trust values and be able to meet deadlines to ensure that the service is delivered safely and effectively making sure service users obtain the support and care they need in a timely manner.

Your role would require you to have core competencies across all mental health presentations.

Willing to work as part of a team and on an individual basis

Actively taking part in team meetings and reflective sessions so we can learn, grow and improve together.

We offer flexible working within the limits of the service provision covering the 24 hour period.
