Hutcheon Mearns is supporting an engineering business in Dundee to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk for the Dundee-based team for a temporary contract until April 2024.

This is an office-based role, working in a finance team that manages the financial administration of this Group and its' subsidiaries.


The job:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as part of a focused finance team, this role will be varied covering;

  • Full responsibility for the purchase ledger processing
  • Checking and processing invoices, credit notes and expense claims
  • Supporting with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Processing timesheets
  • Liaising with procurement
  • Dealing with supplier queries
This role is a 37.5 hour per week working week with a 2pm Friday finish. Start and end times can be flexible to suit the individual. The role will be based in-office to support training and work alongside the finance team.


You will have understanding and experience of accounts payable processes and will have relevant experience working within a busy finance department and as part of a team.

You will have strong attention to detail and have a IT and data processing skills, preferably using Microsoft Excel. You will be able to work to deadlines and have strong communication skills, over the telephone and in writing.
