Salary:
G5 £23,194 - £26,845 per annum

The Public Health healthcare team at Walsall Council are passionate about delivering first-class patient-centred, safe and effective care to our community.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and caring Health Care Support Workers who will go the extra mile to support our communities, colleagues, teams and the Authority.

The Public Health team commissions Contraception and Sexual Health, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol and NHS Health Check services, and is driven by the opportunities partnership and collaboration brings.

Main duties of the job

  • Front of house roles, such as meeting and greeting and client registration:
  • Stock organisation and clinic set up and close down,
  • Acting as chaperone.
  • Delivery of health promotion/ information sessions in various clinical and nonclinical environments.
  • Clinical tasks such as perform venepuncture, undertake basic observations of patients, including blood pressure.
  • Manage asymptomatic patients.
  • Process routine samples by labelling, recording, and storing appropriately.

The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
