Service Designer - Financial Services - Cardiff (hybrid) - £625 p/day - 6 months


Harvey Nash are currently supporting a large Financial Services organisation with the requirement to hire a Senior Service Designer on a contract basis.

- £625 p/day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)

  • 6 months (with extension to end of 2023)
  • Cardiff (12 days on site)

Role Background:


As Senior Service Designer you will be responsible for designing end-to-end client and colleague experiences for the Automotive arm of the bank.


Specifically, the role will lead a cross-functional squad in understanding how customer journeys work & perform today, before re-imagining the target experience of the future.


The Role:

No previous experience within Financial Services or the Automotive sector is required

  • Working with data and qualitative insight, through collaboration with frontline staff, managers and customers, to design solutions and strategic propositions.
  • Understanding and articulating clearly how services need to change from a user centred, system, and business perspective.
  • Mapping the service experiences of customers and defining how organisations need to change what and how they deliver to become more effective
  • Working closely with design researchers to define and communicate customer's needs
  • Codesigning with our clients and colleagues to design new service models and value propositions, defining how the business can reorganise themselves to deliver
  • Taking research into actionable insights and communicating this in a succinct and humancentred way to stakeholders

Desired Experience:


  • Experience of Systems Thinking (Vanguard Method) & leading interventions.
  • Experience running Design Sprints to solve problems and/or develop new products/services following a 'Design Thinking'
  • Must be a strong leader/facilitator, as this role will be expected to inspire & lead teams.
  • Must be a strong communicator, capable of inspiring Senior leaders across the Group
