Role Description

  • Job Purpose:
  • To maintain and continuously improve the site documentation systems in accordance with central policies, customer requirements and BRC/IFS standards, implementing industry "best practices".
  • Working with all stakeholders to ensure documentation capture across the business is fit for purpose, relevant and meets all Food Safety, Health & Safety, Quality and customer requirements. Is built to allow for clarity and ease of use and for developments including move to paperless systems.
  • To maintain the Quality Management system portal app ensuring that all stakeholders follow the Ways of Working and that document control is achieved across all relevant departments.
To be an active member of the Internal Auditing team including

  • Setting up and undertaking GMP audits to agreed schedule and working with key stakeholders to identify issues and close out NCR's
  • Setting up and undertaking Key procedures audits to agreed schedule and working with key stakeholders to identify issues and close out NCR's
  • Setting up and undertaking Internal Audits to QMS agreed schedule and working with key stakeholders to identify issue and close out NCR's.
  • External audits and audits against the Customer Codes of Practise.
  • Deputise for the Food Safety, Health & Safety Internal Auditor in their absence.

Dimensions:

  • The site operates in a highly competitive market with both own label and branded sectors. Communication of, and compliance to, all legislative customer and Company food standards is essential in maintaining quality standards, customer satisfaction and market share in the canned foods sector.
  • The role of the Technical Quality Systems Administrator is to support the Quality Systems Manager in ensuring the site systems and processes are defined and in place to support the Quality objectives of Princes Foods.
  • This role is key in identifying and realising issues of concern and working with stakeholders to quickly and proactively to resolve issues in a sustainable way.

Role Requirements

  • Principal Responsibilities
  • Key elements incorporating Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety
  • Undertake factory based GMP audits across the site to set schedule. Working across all departments to identify & highlight both & bad practices, reporting against site KPI's, alerting site Technical and Production Managers to potential product safety issues or nonconformance to legal & customer standards.
  • Monitor the manufacturing processes for conformance to critical safety parameters with reference to agreed procedures and limits (in HACCP & key procedures) to ensure standards of product safety are maintained.
  • Support the training and development of in house internal auditing teams.
  • Promote & encourage a culture of high standards in food safety, GMP, quality and H&S, leading by example.
  • To maintain the QMS system and ensure that document control system is effective, efficient and compliant at Long Sutton. Incorporating good document control and communication to key stakeholders where new systems / controls and training is required.
  • Advise and instruct QA & production teams on new controlled documentation (processes, procedures and record forms).
  • Maintain ways of working for the new Quality Management System and promote and support the Manufacturing team in increasing awareness of ongoing projects whilst maintaining data flow.
  • Forms creation and maintenance to ensure correct instructions are received.
  • Manage workload and review/update priorities as required.
  • Identify own training needs and with Quality Systems Manager agree a time plan for achieving this.
  • Personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviours, ensuring safe operating practices are followed.
  • Complete Accident and Near Miss reports as required. Ensure any recommendations are completed and actioned. Support site initiatives to reduce accidents and near misses.
  • This role may be required to support at Wisbech, part of Canning Division, as part of ongoing drive for continuous improvement. This could include Internal Auditing, QMS shared learnings as examples.
