Night Security Worker - Taunton, United Kingdom - Arc

We're looking for a Night Security person, to help ensure the overnight security and the safety of all clients. Based in Taunton you will help to keep a calm and safe environment, defusing & managing conflict when necessary.
You will work a rolling shift pattern of 4 on 4 off from 10.00pm am, helping to provide a safe and secure home for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the door entry system ensuring only authorised persons enter the building.
- Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV.
- Conduct security patrols on all Arc properties, ensuring the buildings are secure and safe at all times.
- Attend Call-Outs to all Arc premises whilst on shift.
- To use the personal safety equipment provided as necessary.
- Manage client conflict and challenging behaviours, mitigating risks as necessary.
- Manage incidents and liaise with emergency services / oncall as required.
- Record and report all relevant data.
- Abide by current Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Ensure the premises are kept clean and tidy overnight.
- Participate in handovers to oncoming duty staff if required.
- Carry out routine tests of security/ safety of the building and equipment.
- Be fully competent in the use of the entire fire alarm systems and follow fire procedures when required.
- Ensure all fire equipment is in good working order and record any defects.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Empathy with client group (Essential)
- Understanding of importance of equal opportunities (Essential)
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, including fire safety (Essential)
- Experience of working with homeless people or a related client group (Desirable)
- Basic First Aid skills (Desirable)
