Job Description:


We've created a brand-new Investment Advice and Guidance Team that's responsible for the development, implementation, launch and ongoing management of the investment advice and guidance policy.


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of the Investment Advice and Guidance Team You'll lead the Mass Affluent business' strategic vision to develop a leading digital end to end advice and guidance process; creating an ideal customer journey, aligned to customer need, value and regulatory obligations.


You'll be designing and maintaining the digital advice and suitability guidelines that feed into the algorithm that dispenses financial advice to customers seeking longer-term investment options.

These advice and suitability guidelines will form the base of all investment advice across the wider Group, making this a Group-wide role whilst reporting to Mass Affluent.

You'll also create and chair a group-wide Advice and Guidance Committee.


You'll be a key member of the wider business' Senior Leadership Team, and report to the Regulatory Engagement and Business Risk Director.

Contributing to broader strategic planning and business decision making by providing insight, control and thought leadership


What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development, implementation, launch and ongoing management of the investment advice and guidance policy.
  • Design and maintenance of algorithms /business logic to deliver digital/digitalfirst advice propositions
  • Lead databased initiatives that seek to improve/simplify digital advice and guidance.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues across the Group to shape and influence strategic decisions, driving outcomes that support our strategic priorities and balance customer, commercial and regulatory outcomes.
  • Lead a small team that seeks databased opportunities to continuously refine customer experience to deliver leading/bestinclass digital advice and guidance processes.
  • Ensure team operates within a defined risk framework, ensuring processes and associated materials meet customer needs and embracing the principles of Consumer Duty
  • Keep uptodate with market developments including regulatory and tax policy landscape and Mass Affluent's business strategy, and convert this knowledge into ideas and activities that support the development and promotion of the digital advice and guidance range.
  • Explore new tools, systems and technology into the advice and guidance process to facilitate the provision of more rounded advice, enhance customer value and reduce internal inefficiencies.

Essential- Minimum RQF Level 4 Qualifications- Passion for improving opportunities and outcomes for investment customers- Influence business decisions, using insightful information to design and deliver customer focussed processes which are transparent and easy to use- Reputation for strong collaboration across organisational silos and for delivering high quality outputs with positive tangible impact- Excellent problem-solving skills and find your own solutions to new and emerging issues- Effective risk management, ensuring activities are delivered through a robust control framework- Build and maintain a successful team, developing colleagues through stretching performance objectives, feedback and coaching

Experience and familiarity with Advice Suitability standards and policy requirements associated with provision of regulated advice on Investments, Pensions and At-Retirement/Decumulation offerings.
