The opportunity:


As an External Communications Executive you will support the delivery of external communications in support of business, brand, and channel objectives and helps to ensure the consistent and compelling delivery of the Openwork brand voice and partnership values in all activities.


You will be responsible for the effective design, delivery, and monitoring of a wide variety of impactful communications using a variety of media and resources.

The communications will build adviser trust and confidence in Openwork and enhance the Openwork reputation both internally and externally.


You will also be responsible for the efficient execution, delivery and monitoring of key creative assets and communication messages using a variety of resources and channels.


The External Communications Executive is a central figure within the Marketing Communications team in ensuring that marketing assets from across the team are accessible to the network.

This will require day to day management of external channels and resources, close interaction with the full marketing team, channel managers, SMEs across the business, key advisers, and suppliers.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Responsible for the execution and monitoring of the Openwork external communications plan delivering creative assets and external communications against agreed plans, budgets, and goals.
  • Ensuring a constant, visible, and effective set of creative assets and resources that are accessible to key target stakeholder groups.
  • Driving a bestinclass central resource of communications tools and assets that can be deployed effectively by partners.
  • The role involves understanding the business strategy, channel plans as well as close partnership with the Senior Communications Manager and the Digital Communications Manager to maximise the ability to provide the most relevant and effective creative assets and internal/external communications across the network.
  • Provide challenge and forethought in identifying new opportunities to enhance and improve external comms delivery.
  • Providing a central point of contact for advisers who want to access creative assets and who need support or help on a day today basis.
  • Monitor qualitychecks of all communications activity against brand tone of voice and identity guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be an expert on external communications within the business by ensuring that all communications are delivered to the appropriate audiences in a timely, trusted, cost effective and imaginative manner.

What will you need to succeed?:

  • You will ideally have 3 years of communications/marketing experience ideally within Financial Services.
  • Experience of implementing integrated communications.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent CIM Diploma preferred.
  • Excel, PowerPoint, CMS, Digital design.
  • Strong communication skills including ability to interpret technical or conceptual information into simple, straightforward English.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • A delivery focus that operates across a variety of activities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise across different priorities, multiple stakeholders, timescales, and goals.
  • Excellent influencing and networking skills.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Positive, selfmotivated individual capable of working autonomously, with a strong "can do" attitude.
