Hourly Paid Lecturer - Biosciences:


£48.53 per direct teaching hour
:

This includes
2 or more of the following elements: teaching, preparation and marking of the scheduled programme of work.


A flat rate of £19.41 per direct teaching hour will be paid for completing one of the above elements of the schedule.


The number of hours required and the days of the week may vary.

About the Role:


We are recruiting one or more highly motivated individuals with the skills and experience to be part of our teaching team within Biosciences.

You will work an estimated 44 hours in the academic year , with teaching sessions timetabled in January to April 2024.

We are currently looking to recruit individuals with expertise in ecology, environmental biology or a related discipline, and in particular in the discipline of freshwater ecology, with a focus on river ecosystems.

You will have responsibility for preparing and delivering lectures, seminars and practical laboratory and field sessions.

You will be expected to contribute to marking when required and provide appropriate teaching, learning, and pastoral support to students.

Therefore, you will have excellent planning, organisation, communication, time management and troubleshooting skills and be able to support student learning and development.

Exact duties included in this role will be discussed on an individual basis.


You will work under the direction of Professor Rachel Stubbington, module leader for the module Freshwater Ecosystems, to which you will contribute.

You will be based in the Bioscience team, which is part of the School of Science and Technology, located within our rapidly evolving Clifton Campus.

This is a multi-award-winning site within which we have opened an interdisciplinary science and technology building, with state-of-the-art bioscience research and teaching labs.
