What will you be doing?
You will assist and support the HSSEQ Manager in ensuring that BPA's HSSEQ policies, processes and programmes are effectively developed and managed and are in line with relevant HSSEQ Legislation, Regulations and Standards


Responsibilities include the following:

Develop, Implement, and Maintain HSSEQ Policies and Procedures: Create robust policies and procedures aligned with regulations and standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.


Conduct Risk Assessments:
Identify potential hazards and develop effective risk mitigation strategies to minimize risks to personnel, property, and the environment.


Ensure Compliance:
Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSSEQ regulations and standards.


Deliver Training Programs:

Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of HSSEQ, fostering a proactive safety and quality culture.


Lead Incident Investigations:
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.


Perform On-site Inspections: Conduct on-site inspections of HSSEQ activities, providing advice on compliance with regulations and standards.


Plan and Conduct Audits:
Lead internal audits and inspections to assess compliance with HSSEQ standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Develop Emergency Response Plans:
Create and maintain emergency response plans to ensure readiness to handle various emergency scenarios effectively.


Maintain Records and Prepare Reports:

Keep accurate records of HSSEQ activities, incidents, and corrective actions, and prepare regular reports for management and relevant authorities.


Collaborate with Departments:

Work closely with Operations and Engineering departments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSSEQ performance and implement effective solutions.


Provide Guidance and Advice:
Inspect HSSEQ-related documentation and offer advice and guidance to stakeholders.


Promote Engagement:

Foster open communication and engagement in HSSEQ initiatives, promoting a collective sense of responsibility for health, safety, security, environment, and quality.


Manage Supplier Relationships:
Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring adherence to HSSEQ requirements through assessments and audits.


What do we need from you?

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (required).
  • Environmental Management qualification (desirable).
  • Relevant experience in a similar Health, Safety and Environmental role.
  • Knowledge of relevant HSEQ regulations and standards.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • UK Driving Licence to enable regular travel to office & sites (approx. 23 days per week).

Salary:

Basic Salary of £38,000-£42,000 + benefits
