  • We are looking for a passionate Retail Buyer to develop our existing product lines as well as researching, sourcing, proposing and negotiating new ranges.

We operate a network of ten visitor centres (nature discovery centres) across the county, all of which offer a variety of retail items from children's books, toys and games to selections of confectionery, local products, bird feed and boxes, binoculars, cards and home accessories.


The post holder will be responsible for developing our existing products as well as researching, sourcing, proposing and negotiating new ranges to improve our retail offering to deliver an impressive retail experience aligned to our culture, brand and attraction offer.

The aim is to focus on wildlife, local provenance, sustainability, and seasonality to match our audience requirements.


It is essential that applicants have excellent knowledge and experience in retail buying and merchandising together with experience operating in retail procurement for a multiple distribution organisation.

In this role we are looking for someone with strong negotiation skills to achieve healthy profit margins against competitive pricing strategies.

The post holder will work closely with the inhouse visual merchandiser and central operations team.

The position is a two-year fixed-term position working 30 hours per week between Monday and Friday (the hours can be worked flexibly).

The starting salary is £24,800 (FTE £31,000).
