The Role

_ The Position_

Set in a unique working environment, this role reports to the HR Officer and will have daily interactions with the school staff community and senior management team.

This role is responsible for leading on the administration of all HR matters at the College, including payroll.

The HR Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the HR Officer, ensuring that all aspects of human resources are well managed. Its focus will be to support the HR systems of the College, managing the Breathe HR system; absence, and holiday reporting, providing HR data to the HR Officer, and providing administrative support within any aspect of HR that might be necessary, such as note-taking in HR meetings, support to prepare and manage recruitment campaigns, support to update policy and contractual information and support to maintain HR records, streamlining systems and procedures.
Main Responsibilities

_ Key duties and responsibilities_

Work closely with the HR Officer to support the delivery of all people policies and processes (i.e. performance management, employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence management) in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

Supporting the HR function with the full recruitment process including posting roles, arranging interviews, conducting pre-employment checks and onboarding, including the delivery of site inductions as part of Safer Recruitment.

Supporting internal and external enquiries and requests relating to the HR function.

Supporting the payroll function through provision of relevant documents and checks using internal data systems to record relevant HR data.

Daily on-site interaction and employee engagement with a multi-cultural and diverse workforce.

Supporting the business through the delivery of site absence management processes.

Notetaking in formal meetings including but not limited to disciplinary and grievance hearings.

Help support, organize, and deliver onsite Occupational Health surveillance visits, ethical audits, and other such initiatives.

Other relevant tasks and opportunities such as may be required.

Relevant experience in the HR field or strong transferrable skills essential.

Assertive, resilient, and highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Emotionally intelligent and professional conduct with the ability to maintain a high level of trust and confidentiality.

Effective communicator, able to build trust and influence.

Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.

Proactive and able to work under own initiative with a keen and enthusiastic attitude to learning. A clear willingness to operate as part of the wider support staff team at the College.
