Alexander Steele Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a great food manufacturing business based in
Fife to recruit a
SpecificationsTechnologist to join their site due to continued growth.

As a Specifications Technologist, reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in the Technical department.

The Role:

Write and maintain specifications for all customers, ensuring that the information provided is accurate.
Liaise with other technical functions such as NPD (New Product Development) to ensure all customer and internal specifications are met.
Assist with writing, reviewing, and maintaining the internal process specifications and quality attribute sheets to ensure they reflect customer specifications.
Ensure all specifications for raw materials and finish products are approved and up to date.
Review and maintaining the approved supplier list.
Supporting the technical team with customer/site audits.
Maintain the supplier approval status and update accordingly.
Review raw materials specifications prior to customer launches, ensuring they are signed off by the technical team.
Have previous experience within a food manufacturing industry.
Understanding of nutrition, food intolerance/allergens, microbiology, nutritional and chemical analysis.
Knowledge of up to date legislation regarding the clients products.
Graduate/Undergraduate Qualification in Food Science, Technology/Nutrition or otherwise relevant.
Excellent communication skills able to effectively communicate with all relevant departments.
Good organisation skills with ability to multitask.
Strong administration and IT skills
