We are delighted to be working with a great SaaS company who are looking to hire an Application Support and Development Engineer (Python)

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who can contribute to the development and support of our software.

As an integral member of the team you will work with the wider department to ensure we deliver an unrivalled solution for our customers, while reporting directly to the Support Team Leader.

Customer engagement is central to this role and you will have shared responsibility for managing customer expectations with regards to support based activities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for managing and prioritise customer service requests through various means used to raise support requests.
  • Investigate, respond to and progress customer issues and queries to a successful conclusion
  • Develop software to connect customers own systems and 3rd party systems
  • Develop solutions in PL/SQL and Python
  • Develop tools, scripts and pipelines as required for the DevOps processes alongside the rest of the team from time to time
  • Conduct testing of the system during deployment phases, determining whether components and systems meet user requirements
  • Develop Training material
  • Lead training sessions for customers

Who are we looking for?

Suitable applicants will have:

  • Working knowledge of programming in the Python programming language as a minimum
  • Knowledge of MS Windows and MS Windows server / MS Excel
  • Minimum of 4 GCSE's 'A*C' grades (or equivalent) including English, Maths, Science
  • Knowledge of working with task tracking systems and ticket systems would be useful
  • Be selfmotivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team, prioritising work based on demands of the department and own workload
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

It would be advantageous to have:

  • Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and developing in PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of programming in the Python programming language
