Turner - CNC Machinist:


What you need to know about the role


The Central Engineering Mechanical Workshops Machine Shop has a range of Conventional & CNC Machines covering Horizontal/Vertical Boring, Milling & Turning.


As part of a shift team reporting to your Team Leader you will be expected to machine both new and refurbished components to a high standard of precision and quality.

You will work to achieve workshop targets, customer service and health and safety objectives.


Using your skills to achieve business objectives, you will react to engineering, quality and safety issues as they arise and utilise your knowledge, experience and skill to initiate corrective actions.

What we need to know about you

You must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant machining trade or have served a recognised apprenticeship*.


Ideally, you will have workshop machining experience within a commercial or heavy engineering environment and essential to the role is the ability to adapt to new equipment across a range of control systems.

You must be flexible, have a desire to learn and develop.
